Moved to City in the summer from Rushden & Diamonds in a deal which involved Craig Farrell switching to Nene Park.
The striker started his career at Barrow before joining Scunthorpe United in 2004 and he scored for the Iron on his Football League debut.
In three seasons at Rushden he netted 32 goals in 124 appearances and last term had a spell on loan with League Two Bournemouth.
