Joined the Minstermen at the start of the 2009/10 season, signing from Kidderminster Harriers after spending two seasons at Aggborough.
A trainee with hometown club Newcastle United he moved to Watford in 2004. The following year he transferred to Hereford and helped United win promotion to the Football League in 2006.
In his last game for York City Andy scored the winning goal in the FA Carlsberg Trophy tie with Corby Town with a 40th minute penalty, the game ended 1-0.
It was announced on the 2nd February 2010, that Andy had signed for fellow Blue Square Premier side Gateshead.
