Lucky Numbers Draw
|
 |
York Minstermen's Lucky
Numbers Draw was launched at the recent home game against Northwich
Victoria.
Rather than have a traditional raffle at the Bootham Crescent
Beer Festival on Sunday 6th April, York Minstermen have decided
to invite entrants to 'buy' numbered boxes (1-500) on several
sheets of paper. Each numbered box costs 50p and the entrant
has to write their name and a telephone number inside the box.
OK, it's not very different from a traditional raffle! The winning
numbers will be drawn in the early evening at the Beer Festival
and winners will then be notified, if they are not in attendance.
Prizes include a meal for two at Brigantes Bar, bottles of wine,
Domino's Pizza vouchers, tickets for York City FC, chocolates,
snacks from Country Products and a Navvy's Breakfast. More will
be added before the draw.
As with the Beer Festival, all proceeds will help with the costs
of developing youth players at York City Football Club. There
are some exceptional prospects in the club's youth teams and,
hopefully, they will develop into professionals at YorkCity
and may bring in valuable transfer fee income for the club.
In order to keep this dream alive for the youngsters, such fundraising
is essential until we can regain Football League status.
Look out for York Minstermen inviting entries to the Lucky Numbers
Draw at matches and events between now and the Beer Festival.
Entry will also be possible at the Beer Festival, assuming the
500 numbers have not sold out. Around 100 numbers were sold
at the Northwich game with minimal effort.
Thanks for your support.
