The new scheme will enable supporters to raise money and also save up to a third off their phone bills by simply switching phone services. City Talk, which is powered by Yorkshire based telecommunications provider, Charitel, works by paying a fixed donation of five per cent of your phone bill to York City each month. Billy McEwan is already a fan. He said: "What could be an easier way of raising money for the club than sitting in your living room and having a phone conversation with your friends and family? "It is an absolutely fantastic service which also benefits our supporters. I'm constantly on the phone so it's good to know my conversations are helping the club, but not costing me a fortune in monthly phone bills thanks to the great savings you can make. It's hard to find a reason not to switch!" Mall Doyle, managing director of Charitel, added: "York City is the first football club in the UK to partner with Charitel to launch such a fundraising initiative." Switching to City Talk is easy.
